Website Visits

Package: MARKETING

1. General

Info

The Website Visits module logs website visits determined by SalesViewer in detail.

A record is automatically created per website visit. Each record in the Website Visits module is referenced to a record in the Leads module.

All pages visited during the website visit and the triggered interests are listed in the Additional Information block in the Visited Websites field.

Note – Users cannot create, copy or edit records in the Website Visits module!

Records are created by the SalesViewer integration.

Furthermore, the Layout Editor in Module Management is not available for the Website Visits module.

Example – Targeted Contact Approach

A sales employee sees in brainX that a lead from a known company has visited the pricing page three times today. They use this information as an occasion for a targeted approach.

Example – Evaluating Purchase Interest

A marketing employee evaluates via the Reports module which website visitors have visited specific product pages for a particularly long time, to draw conclusions about purchase interest.

6. Practical Examples

1 – Targeted Contact Approach Based on Website Visits

A sales employee checks the newly arrived website visits in the Website Visits module each morning. He notices that a lead from a known company visited the pricing page three times the day before – with a total visit duration of over eight minutes. Via the Visited Websites field, he sees which specific pages were visited, and via the Triggered Interests field which product areas were marked as interesting.

He opens the linked lead record directly from the website visit and makes targeted contact – knowing which products the prospect is interested in. This turns an anonymous website visit into a qualified sales activity.

2 – Evaluating Purchase Interest Through Reports

The marketing team wants to systematically evaluate which product or pricing pages are visited particularly long and frequently by website visitors, to draw conclusions about purchase interest.

In the Reports module, a new report is created based on the Website Visits module. The fields Visit Duration, Number of Pages Visited and Triggered Interests are configured. A filter on specific URLs in the Visited Websites field narrows the evaluation to relevant product pages. The report is sent to the marketing team as a weekly schedule, which uses the results for prioritizing leads and campaigns.

3 – Converting SalesViewer Leads into the Sales Process

The SalesViewer integration identifies an anonymous visitor as a company and automatically creates a lead record in brainX. In the Website Visits module, several visits are stored for this lead, including accesses to the solutions page and the contact form.

The responsible sales employee opens the lead record, adds the appropriate contact person from the company and evaluates the visit history. Based on the pages visited and the triggered interests, the lead is classified as qualified and converted via the Convert Lead action into a contact and directly a deal.

7. Frequently Asked Questions

Can website visits be manually created or edited?

No. In the Website Visits module, users cannot create, copy or edit records. All records are created exclusively automatically by the SalesViewer integration.

What is the prerequisite for using the Website Visits module?

The Website Visits module requires the active and configured SalesViewer integration. Without this integration, no website visit records are generated.

How is a website visit linked to a lead?

Each record in the Website Visits module is automatically linked to a record in the Leads module. The link is visible via the Website Visits field in the Basic Data block. If the SalesViewer integration is active, additional special MQL fields are displayed in the Leads module.

What are "triggered interests" and how are they configured?

Triggered interests are areas of the website configured as interest categories in SalesViewer – e.g., specific product pages or topic areas. When a visitor accesses such a page, the corresponding interest is recorded in the website visit record. The configuration of interests takes place directly in SalesViewer.

Can I evaluate website visits in reports?

Yes. Website visits can be evaluated in detail in the Reports module. All fields of the module – including visit duration, visited pages, number of page views and triggered interests – are available as fields and filters in the report.

What is the SalesViewer GUID and what is it used for?

The SalesViewer GUID is a unique ID that uniquely identifies each website visit. It is usable in SalesViewer itself, e.g., to look up a visit directly in the SalesViewer interface. The field can be displayed in the Record Selection and Links settings in module management.
