2. Global Settings

The following settings are configured in the Jira section of Company Information:

Field	Description
Jira URL	URL of the Jira instance (e.g., https://yourcompany.atlassian.net)
Security Key	API token for authentication at the Jira instance
Webhook URL	URL displayed here that must be configured in Jira for status updates

2.1. Configuring the Webhook in Jira

To receive status updates from Jira in brainX, a webhook must be configured in Jira:

1. Log in to Jira as administrator
2. Navigate to Settings → System → Webhooks
3. Click Create a Webhook
4. Enter the Webhook URL from the brainX settings as the URL
5. Select the events to be transmitted (recommended: Issue updated, Issue created)
6. Save the webhook

3. User Settings

Each user who wants to use the Jira integration must store a personal API token under My Settings → Integrations → Jira:

1. Log in to Atlassian Account
2. Click Create API token
3. Copy the generated token
4. Enter the token in brainX under My Settings → Integrations → Jira

4. Usage

4.1. Block "Jira Integration"

In the record detail view of brainX, the Jira Integration block is available in the supported modules. In this block, existing Jira tickets can be linked or new tickets can be created.

4.2. Creating Jira Tickets

To create a new Jira ticket from brainX:

1. Open a record (e.g., project, task)
2. In the Jira Integration block, click Create Jira ticket
3. Fill in the fields (title, project, issue type, description)
4. Click Create

The created ticket is automatically linked to the brainX record.

4.3. "Zeit gesamt" Field (Total Time)

In records linked to Jira tickets, the Zeit gesamt (Total Time) field is available. This field shows the total time logged in Jira for this ticket.

5. Examples

Example 1: Linking a Project to a Jira Epic

1. Open a project record in brainX
2. In the Jira Integration block, click Link Jira ticket
3. Search for the Jira Epic by key or title
4. Select the Epic — the link is saved

Example 2: Creating a Jira Bug Ticket from brainX

1. Open a ticket/case in brainX
2. In the Jira Integration block, click Create Jira ticket
3. Select the type Bug and fill in the description
4. After saving, the ticket is visible in Jira and linked in brainX

Q: Can multiple Jira tickets be linked to one brainX record?

A: Yes, multiple Jira tickets can be linked to a brainX record.

Q: Are status changes in Jira synchronized back to brainX?

A: Yes, provided the webhook is correctly configured. When a ticket status changes in Jira, the link in brainX is updated.

Q: Which Jira projects are available for selection?

A: All Jira projects accessible under the configured API token are available.
