SalesViewer
Package: SALES MARKETING
1. General
SalesViewer is a web analytics tool that identifies companies visiting your website by their IP address and provides detailed company information. The brainX integration automatically imports these website visitor records and makes them available in the CRM.
2. Configuration
2.1. Activation
To activate the SalesViewer integration:
- A SalesViewer account with API access is required
- In the SalesViewer section of Company Information, enter the API Key from the SalesViewer dashboard
- Save the settings
2.2. Settings
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| API Key | API key from the SalesViewer account |
| Minimum Visit Time (seconds) | Minimum duration of a website visit to be imported (filters out short/bot visits) |
| Minimum Page Views | Minimum number of pages viewed during a visit |
| Duplicate Handling | How to handle companies that already exist in brainX |
2.3. Duplicate Handling
The following options are available for duplicate handling:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Create always | Every new visit creates a new record, even for existing companies |
| Link to existing | New visits are linked to the existing organization record |
| Skip duplicates | Visits from already existing companies are not imported |
3. Background Task
The SalesViewer integration runs as a background task that regularly retrieves new website visits from the SalesViewer API and imports them into brainX. The synchronization interval can be viewed in the Background Tasks overview.
4. MQL Module
Imported SalesViewer visits are available in the MQL (Marketing Qualified Lead) module in brainX. Each visit record contains:
- Company name and address
- Industry and company size
- Number of page views and visit duration
- Visited URLs
- First and last visit date
5. Website Visits Module
In addition to the MQL module, there is the Website Visits module (Webseitenbesuche) which provides a chronological overview of all website visits. Here, individual visits can be viewed in detail and linked to existing organizations or contacts.
6. Duplicate Check
Before importing, brainX automatically checks whether a company already exists in the system based on name and address. Depending on the configured duplicate handling, the existing record is linked, updated, or a new record is created.
7. Examples
Example 1: Automatic Lead Generation
Situation: A company visits your website for the first time. Result: brainX automatically creates an MQL record with all available company information. A sales representative can contact this lead immediately.
Example 2: Existing Customer Returns
Situation: An existing customer (already in the Organizations module) visits the website again. Result: Depending on the duplicate handling setting, the visit is linked to the existing organization record. The sales representative can see the visit history in the organization record.
8. FAQ
Q: How does SalesViewer identify companies?
A: SalesViewer uses IP address lookup combined with public company databases to identify the company behind a website visit.
Q: Are private individuals also identified?
A: No, SalesViewer only identifies B2B visitors (companies). Private individuals with consumer internet connections are generally not identified.
Q: How current is the imported data?
A: The background task retrieves new visits at regular intervals. The exact synchronization interval depends on your SalesViewer subscription.
Q: What happens with visits that meet the minimum criteria?
A: Only visits that meet both the minimum visit time and minimum page views criteria are imported into brainX. This filters out bot visits and accidental page calls.
